auto insurance alternatives

Insurance for U.S. vehicles to drive in Canada?
I just bought a house in Montreal, as a second home to be closer family. My main house remains York.I New plan to spend 5 months a year, during the summer and I know you can get auto insurance that allows me to drive my car there for that time period? The other alternative is to buy a car in the U.S. and import it into Canada. If have to do that, does anyone know of any company that it handles all the paperwork and takes care of everything on your behalf? Thanks
Vale This is a matter of residnecy for most states. You have your residence in New York City and plan to continue with that. So you are not entitled to have insurance in Canada, it is not a resident of Canada … (not having a second home does not makes you a resident). So you have to buy insurance U.S. thinking and has a company that covers accidnets and accountability in Canada. You may also should be aware that Canada has a liability limit of 100/300 minum. I know the company I work for offers a certificate showing you have coverage on a vehicle certification for a certified length of time and that covers you in Canada. Just check with your insurance company …. Momma_Bear
