Mexico and the U.S. automobile insurance?
Does anyone know a car insurance company that has a coverage of 15 miles or kilometers from the borders to the U.S.? Thanks!
You do not tell us what state you live in, which would help in this case. If you live in Texas, California, Arizona or New Mexico, is a good chance your car insurance company (if a large, national carrier) provides coverage for short trips common to Mexico. You can refer to your policy or call your agent. If you live outside those states, travel in Mexico is usually specifically excluded. Some (very few) will allow companies to support a policy to provide coverage outside the U.S., but will have to contact your company to see if that is something we offer. Be careful driving in Mexico. Americans are often automatically "fault" when involved in accidents south of the border. Good luck!
