Is my employer required to pay their health insurance? If not, I can get through the Corba new stimulus plan?
My business has slowed down a lot. I am bound to take time off mandatory from January all employees have health insurance coverage of our employer. Now I only work two days a week. My boss told me that it is not obliged to give me health insurance by law as I work less than 30 hours a week. If this is the case, can I get health insurance coverage through of new stimulus bill, which was signed by Obama before? From what I understand, those taxpayers who qualify as "Assistance for Individuals" in Under the Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ( "2009 Recovery Act") are able to pay a small premium equal to 35% of the premium for COBRA original nine months. The balance of the premium will be subsidized by the government.
If you were enrolled in the insurance plan ahead of time to be cut, yes. If not, no. If you were in the plan, you should receive your COBRA papers within the next 45 days. However, the subsidy only lasts 9 months.
