employment insurance training programs

Recent information on safety at work for Canada as reported by organizations such as the Occupational Safety and Insurance (WSIB) has good news … but also contains some not so good news. The good news is that accidents in Canada are in decline and have been for the last decade. The not so good news is that accidents at work each year still affect about a quarter of a million people a year. And every injury or death is not time and pocket money for employers.

To combat the large number of so-called "blue collar" injuries, especially the most common, such like lesions on the hands and limbs, forklift training and / or WHMIS training is recommended as an essential component of general training program for each employee. Even if the worker operating the machine will not be a full time basis, as in the case of float a "", which makes a number of responsibilities, he or she should still understand how to safely and effectively working with forklifts and hazardous materials.

This raises a simple question – why do not more companies forklift training and Canadian Standard training for its people? Unfortunately, they mistakenly believe that persons under their employment can learn to work together without attending classes. It is the "osmosis theory" in action, but does not work. Indeed, such a general assumption organizations bites back … especially in the portfolio.

Note that, even a minor accident can result in losses forklift of the company, including:

• Reduce workplace morale – if you injure your co-worker, is difficult to perform at its best. You is not only concerned about a friend and colleague, but is also concerned that it might be the next to have an accident.

• Loss of employees work – When a company loses an employee, even temporarily, it costs your company money to hire a temporary worker or reassign workers' rights injury to his or her colleagues.

• negative public relations – In the Internet age, word travels fast about organizations that do not provide training well rounded for forklift operators.

• The ability to process – we like it or not, the society of work today has inclinations litigation. A worker that has not received forklift training he or she should have to decide to sue. And even if the employee is not successful, your employer will have lost time and energy to the battle of demand.

Again, these problems can be avoided by investing in basic and advanced forklift training and WHMIS for employees who will be operating this type of machinery or dealing with hazardous materials.

To facilitate employers to pay for training courses, of the forklift and WHMIS costs are expected.

Always remember the old adage "A stitch in time saves nine." Spending time in advance to form workers not only saves money but can literally save lives, too. And that includes the life and longevity of a company.
