Car Insurance Help!? Will my rates go up?
Today, when I outta school, I was about to go home and found an enormous hole in the door the passenger side. So was a hit and run I guess. Nobody left no note or anything. I drove home and called police to get a report police. the police gave me a card with your name and case number, but she said if I file a claim with the insurance company will like me or increase my rates. I am a 17 years old and live in Maryland and am insured under GEICO. Will my rates go up? Thanksgiving is what the police said no? What should I do?
It really depends on your insurance policy. I imagine that in most policies, their rates will not rise when you did not cause the damage, but there are some policies in which the rate will rise, although it was not his fault. Your insurance agent would be the best person to talk to about this.
