Upper Saddle River, NJ – November 19, 2008 – Compensation Resources, Inc. (CRI) and Christian Leadership Alliance (CLA) have published their 2008 survey report of the Compensation for Christian organizations (before Compensation Handbook for Christian Ministries). This is an annual survey designed specifically to provide important compensation data for use by Christian organizations. Along with salary data for 130 jobs, the survey also captured benefit information including insurance coverage, paid vacation, retirement plans, turnover, work – life, etc.

The data is separated into the following 7 industrial classifications covering Christian-based organizations:

* Broadcast Media

* Business / Finance / Legal Services

* Camp / Outreach / Rescue Mission

* Church / Ministry

* Education

* Mission of the Agency / Foundation

* Parachurch

In addition, survey data indicated for each position by revenue, size of workers, the organizational hierarchy, and the region. various statistical measures are presented, such as mean, median and percentile data for each position.

A key finding is that there is a strong dependence (77.7% of participants) on the use of published surveys to determine the market value of their jobs. Last year, more than half (59% of respondents) offered pay rises based on length of service or provide flat across the board increases to all employees. This year, that percentage fell dramatically (1.9%). Cost of living (37.2%), Merit (34.1%) and general increases (27.1%) were the main collectors vote. Interestingly, 95.7% of organizations provide health insurance with PPO (63.9%) being the plan of choice.
