How do I use a "home how much I pay?" calculator?

I've been playing with house affordability calculators online like this: Why do these calculators http://finance.yahoo.com/calculator/real-estate/hom01 asked to enter "annual estimated tax property "and" Estimated annual home insurance is? "Not your annual property tax will be based on how much house I can afford? How I know the amount of taxes they do not know the value of the property? Is not this putting the cart before the horse? This would make a little more sense to me if they asked a percentage. Ditto, by insurance. Not sure also based on the value to be insured? I'm probably misunderstood these terms, but these calculators usually instructions are terrible. Thank you!

It's kind of catch 22, you are right. But in my area of property taxes will be about 2.8% or the purchase price per year. In an area only 20 miles away could be 2.0% or 3.5%. The city, the County school and everyone feels their own rates. I do not know how the area. The insurance does not just depend on how valuable the house, but it's how good your credit is so great and a deductible you can stand and a number of other variables. I think these sites are doing everything possible to warn you that these costs could make a quarter of its payment, or even more and there to think about it when you're looking at the houses.
