Does title insurance protect me against embargoes after closing.?
I wonder if we can buy a house (we have insurance title), is title insurance protect against future embargoes of the house. The situation is the builder is having financial problems and are aware 2 homes with mortgages (contractor who has not paid them during construction). They waited until they sold the house, then put his lien. Then the question is if a contractor puts a lien on my house for work done during the building after closing, Does my title insurance protect me. Thanks I havent closed yet. I guess to wait for contractors / c they know the builder is sinking and the presentation today may end up being placed in bancruptcy in which case they would get nothing.
Why do you think that the contractors waited until after the sale was complete?
