Dental insurance for college students?

I am a student at the University of Pennsylvania. I really need to get some dental work done it because I know I have a cavity or two. I live at home, but my father did not have any insurance. My school also does not provide dental insurance. Are there any site where it could apply some kind of insurance? I really need to get some work done, but I only work part time for what can only pay both. Thanks so much!

You have four options with dental. 1. Visit a local dental school. You can get many procedures done at a reduced price if you are willing to let you practice. You can find one here: 2 http://www.yourhealthplanadvisor.com/Dentalschools.html. Insurance – Depending on the policy: cost $ 30 – $ 60 per month. You pay a $ 50 deductible first, with a maximum annual contribution to be paid for each year of $ 750 – $ 1500, are expected of up to 18 months of important work and then you're paying 50% of charges. Example – average cost of a root canal in my area is $ 919. With insurance you pay $ 460 after paying 18 months of premium (around $ 800 or $ 900). Advantage – can use any dentist with most plans. 3. Plans discount – Cost – $ 5 – $ 12 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Moreover, hardly any dentists who accept the plan and when they do it could get a discount of 10%, which is approximately the same discount you can get by paying cash. Example – average cost of a root canal in my area is $ 919. With discount plans you pay around $ 827. Be very wary of these plans because most are scams. People who sell these plans have little or no knowledge health and dental insurance and do not need a license to sell. The plans are not regulated by the State with no recourse when you have problems. Some states are starting to ban these plans from being sold. Here is a link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/west/2006/11/22/74554.htm information on these plans. 4. Discount rate service plans – Cost $ 7 – $ 15 per month. No deductible, no annual maximum and no waiting periods. Dentist Many accept the plan (first providers check before signing with any plan). When you use the plan there is a set fee that the dentist will charge. Example – average cost of a root canal in my area is $ 919. , With payment of the service plans you pay as little as $ 404. I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the service rate plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?locationid=20349 specifically the Aetna dental plan for access, but you get depends on your area and compare the list to find the best rates for what you need to cover.
