home insurance vacant properties
Homeowner's Ins. in the property fell vacant property (which is on sale). Where can I go for a new policy?

I I am the executor of the estate of my father. He passed away in February 2005. After a massive cleanup and fix what we put on the market this past April. Than was unemployed during much of this time and maintenance became an overwhelming financial burden and I could not afford to pay the premium on time. I two brothers who are also interested in the home. I could not get any help from them. The mortgage is paid, but the house remains on behalf of my father. Transfers titles are set to take place when actually sell the house. The insurance company had not have a vacant house that is not in our name. Can we obtain a new policy of any company? Any help would be appreciated.

Typically, insurance rates are filed by insurance companies different licensed to do business in your state, and which vary from state to state. The best thing to do is call a local independent agent. Just look at the guide for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and find a professional licensed agent will be able to help solve your insurance problems, and give rate comparisons from several different companies. There are specialized companies to ensure empty houses and since they are the executor, should have no trouble getting coverage. I have written several empty houses in the last few days ……. seems the market is overloaded with empty homes and the housing market is pretty soft. If you need further assistance, direct mail and perhaps I can refer to someone in your state.
