How much homeowners insurance in Nassau County, NY?
I'm starting to look to buy my first home and the need to understand even a basic set of annual cost for homeowners insurance for budgeting purposes. Without having a property in mind an application fee, are there somewhere I can see average or median property insurance rates? I'm looking at houses in good low purchase price of $ 375,000.
I live in the Nassau County (Hicksville) and pay $ 1025 for one year for $ 275,000 of building coverage, and liability and all other bells and whistles. Expect to pay between $ 800 – $ 1500 +. Rates go by the amount of building coverage (in dollars), and the area of the house (square feet). The higher the value (and the larger the area) the greater the premium. You credit will also be a factor. In addition, the brick houses are a little cheaper (no fuel) and thus are more new houses. Good luck!
