questions about insurance claims from Ike?

I am in Texas in Chambers County, and our area was beaten very badly by Ike. my mobile home, I just bought 2 weeks ago, has cut in half by a tree, and is completely destroyed. So yes, my first month as a homeowner not doing so well. I'm sure throughout, and includes coverage storms. I talked to the complaints department yesterday and told me to send an emergency check help us until we meet with a claims adjuster, and that we must keep receipts to cover expenses so they can be reimbursed. I understand that going to be a long since there are so many houses that were damaged, but does anyone know a ball park time line of when we can expect to get an agreement? my boyfriend seems think that it should not take more than a couple of months so we can get a new home, but I doubt we'll even get to our facility well after Christmas. any guidance will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

All will bring out of state adjusters to help with all the claims. However, claims can only work one at a time. It could be a few weeks before an adjuster gets back to you. Believe me, it's not fair to ignore the fitter you. You see the damage around you … everyone needs an adjustment. Usually insurance companies trying to reach claims that the houses are uninhabitable first. We can not give a timeline. All I can tell you to do is take what ever steps you can follow the rest of your property from damage and keep your receipts.
