first prenatal appointment?
im 17 weeks pregnant and I just got my insurance today so I set my first appointment for Thursday. What need and what I need to wait? going to do an ultrasound on my first visit CUS im already 4 months?
At my first appointment that did an ultrasound that day. The checked my urine and blood, and the babys heartbeat. (so cute!) The first appointment is mostly the doctor to ask him questions such as, "the last menstrual period?-first pregnancy? "Race baby's father? weight before pregnancy? "History of birth defects? Since they are 4 months and their gynecologist will refer you to get an ultrasound and blood tests if necessary. If you have a history of birth defects in your family (spina bifida syndrome Down) that would have to take the test for 13 weeks. They can also do a Pap test if you are owed for his part, never had to have one since I was a month before being pregnant. Good luck and a list of questions ready so you will not forget!
