You may or may not realize that the zip code of where to park your car at night actually affects their auto insurance rates. Some people immediately offended or put off by this, assuming this has something to do with the convenience of your neighborhood, or if they live in an area that is predominantly one race or culture assuming is some sort of prejudice. In fact, the zip code where you live or park your car at night affect your auto insurance in many respects, and none of them has to do with these factors.

Insurance companies live and breathe the statistics and the use of these facts and figures in many ways to calculate rates. When it comes to car insurance, they actually believe the crime statistics to determine coverage rates. Obviously, if you live in an area it has a lot of crime, are taking a greater risk in insuring your car when it comes to theft and vandalism, against a city or neighborhood which have reported that much crime. This is not meant as an insult to those who live there, but again, you simply have to do with the risks they take in providing coverage. That can cause in the position of the auto insurance company – do not charge more for vehicles parked in high crime neighborhoods for those who are not?

Another way that affects your postal code to auto insurance rates has to do with traffic congestion and the number of vehicles that are registered in that district. The more and more traffic congestion, the more likely it is to get in an accident. It's just a question of data and statistics again. The company is taking more risk when securing a car in a congested area to ensure that where there is one where many cars on the road. This type of thinking is why I ask how many miles of travel to work and when composing a budget car insurance, travel more miles each day, more risk you have of being in an accident.

So you see how your auto insurance rate is affected by your zip code, and it is understandable why a company set these things in their coverage and rates. The biggest risk we take, the higher your cost will be. If your neighborhood is considered "high risk" so that your vehicle is concerns, either because of crime or traffic or other cars, then your rates will be higher.
