insurance cic designation

Designations of professional insurance?
I'm trying to decide whether to get a CPCU designation or a designation CIC. Does anyone have one, and could please tell me how it helped your career?
I have a CPCU designation and say that it is a major undertaking in terms of time and effort needed to complete. The curriculum covers all types of insurance (ie property, accident, marine) as well as management, law insurance, accounting and ethics. If you want a solid base of insurance knowledge to Z CPCU designation is the way forward. I've never regretted winning designation because it gave me a solid foundation for understanding any type of insurance. Many prefer to go with the designation of CIC, as it focuses more on specific areas insurance that may be of interest CIC Institutes divide the program into five different areas: personal lines, commercial casualty, commercial property, life and health or management of the agency. Because you do not have to go through all offerrings you can earn the CIC designation much faster than you can win the Nomination of CPCU. I'm sure people IQC, but I think the designation of CPCU has more prestige and gives a complete knowledge of the entire field of insurance. The advantage for me is the knowledge gained. With the knowledge I have gained confidence. When dealing with people in the audience appreciate someone who knows in his field and that translates into customers loyal. If you have the time and are willing to make a commitment that I would go for the CPCU.
