Maternity Claim Filed with short-term disability. 2 months now and are trying to deny.?
Work changed the company insurance in January due to the growth rate. I was already pregnant and disability with the previous company. I sent in the claim in March. Letter Recvd in April to request a medical form to be filled out completely. Sent in full with the affirmation of motherhood. After continually calling to ask, getting different histories, now say they do not pay for preexisting conditions. They paid for my health care when the pregnancy. Do you have to have insurance disabiliity for a certain amount of time to pay before claiming? I ordered brochures explaining insurance benefits since January and have not received that. What can I do. Been out of work since March 4 for hypertension / back pain before his birth on April 12. Thanks
Normally if it is group policy from your employer, which reflect exactly Like the old company. Not all disability policies cover maternity leave, however. I talk to your HR person about it – it could be miscomunication only.
