insurance company profits 400

Insurance question – need good advice please …?
Sorry if this is in the wrong category, but could not find a suitable place and really need advice! I recently had a flood and an undertaking of reforms put in a claim with my insurance company about 3500 to replace damaged wardrobes. I decided not to replace the cabinets, but rather use the space as a closet for storage. Here's the problem, cabinet costs much less in 1400 (including taxes, overhead and profit), but the company I just want to renew a refund of the difference in the estimate of 2100 (I get a refund of 700) and maintain the balance of 400, saying it is for their overhead costs, benefits and taxes. Can they? Can collect for work they did? Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
Swindler! Call your insurance company immediately to ensure that no check has been cut. Your insurance should have a check does not release until the job is completed or in an installation type fashion. Call your state insurance commissioner and verification with the consumer state of things this company is based in. If you have not signed a contract that can not do it. Also consult a lawyer as a last resort. Good lucky!
