What does this mean for drivers in Massachusetts?

Take a look! On 1 April 2008, auto insurance companies begin to set their own rates. This is known as "managed competition". The basic automobile insurance in Massachusetts is the same, with minimum coverages are required by Massachusetts law. But now insurance companies can also offer a variety of coverages, limits and deductibles that were previously unavailable. What does this mean for drivers in Massachusetts? Will they really give us more opportunity to save>? What then? When the insurance company to compete agaisnt each other and the rates will be higher? Im buying a new car that had Safe Commerce … Any recommendations for better insurance? Each motor insurance discounts will give others more than others … Tell me what you think! Thanks!

This means more companies will come to MA, will have different prices for each company and can make their purchase prices. I know for a fact GEICO and Progressive are in the process for obtaining a MA licensed to sell auto insurance. I'm sure others will follow suit. I expected a few months after April 1, because sometimes the approval process will take several months and can not have a huge amount of options immediately. Then start shopping. Prices will be adjusted to the experience of each company claims (the amount they pay in claims for the state) as some premiums will rise, some fall, you can choose. A company may be much better in service and complaints so it can be wliling to spend a little more to have them. Change is frightening for most people, but competition is always good.
