This means more companies will come to MA, will have different prices for each company and can make their purchase prices. I know for a fact GEICO and Progressive are in the process for obtaining a MA licensed to sell auto insurance. I'm sure others will follow suit. I expected a few months after April 1, because sometimes the approval process will take several months and can not have a huge amount of options immediately. Then start shopping. Prices will be adjusted to the experience of each company claims (the amount they pay in claims for the state) as some premiums will rise, some fall, you can choose. A company may be much better in service and complaints so it can be wliling to spend a little more to have them. Change is frightening for most people, but competition is always good.
