Can I get insurance after a drunk driver in collision repairs?
My 1997 Honda Del Sol was beaten by a drunk driver while stationary. Can I still go after your insurance to repair my car, or I have to sue him personally. It was in Edmonton, Alberta and if anyone knows what the procedure would appreciate some advice. The police have been helpful and have not even provided my insurance information a week later the accident. I heard that if he was driving while intoxicated which means that insurance does not have to cover, which is why I'm asking. I have not been able to find answer online yet.
You "go after" him and his insurance company but …. you may be wise to turn this to your insurance and let them do the "chase"
