The issue of mandatory quota of sprinklers in homes and apartment buildings is not simple. One side argues that sprinklers save lives, as indeed they do. However, the other side of CITES extreme physical damage that can result when sprinklers are detonated in a false alarm, and, more importantly, that the irrigation systems are too expensive. So what is a lawmaker or builder to do?

The requirement does not extend to new homes, at least not for now, and builders appear to a sigh relief at not having to make extra money. Neither are mandatory sprinklers will be installed in older buildings. It is here that some critics as "burning" bearing in mind that older homes are more likely to burn out than new homes built using up to date fire-safe materials. To complicate matters, there are two sprinkler systems, wet or dry. In a dry system, no water is in the pipeline directly to the shower, but was contained at its source by a compressor or a similar system. This latter system is more expensive, and compressors require a battery to maintain continuous power. The cost and feasibility of installing sprinkler systems is further complicated by building design and climate. And installing pipes on interior walls and ceiling area is only feasible with certain designs.

From my research, it seems very strange that accidents irrigation occur, creating water damage without there having been a fire. Apart from the threat of freezing pipes, irrigation systems are well designed to avoid compliance without being exposed to fire or damaged mechanically or through physical force. That said, accidents happen. Compounding this is that few people know how to turn their systems off, or are legally allowed in the case of a fire. This means that a fire has occurred very least led to a lot of water damage while the home or building owner waiting for firefighters to put out the sprinkler system.

So, essentially, is the reluctance to spend money that factors in the builders and owners do not want mandatory watering regulations. However, given the history of performance, it appears that the sprinklers are have saved many lives and prevented more property damage they have caused. It's like insurance. You pay now to protect something that may or may not happen. In any case, seems that irrigation systems will only be installed in new and older homes, owners request, at least for now.
