Health tips from professionals or personal experience.

Well, I am a 42 year old man in great shape, I live in Texas, I'm not sure health, not smoking or drinking and I wonder what kind of examination of the body I put my mind at ease. I recently had the mother in law to be diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor and it seems I'm always hearing about prostate cancer, clogged arteries, etc, etc, etc. So, does anyone have any advice for someone like me? I would be grateful if you could give me price quotes, if possible, along with what the tests are necessary. Thanks beforehand!

I think all you need to start a general physcial examination with basic blood tests. That should include a prostate exam, given age. Also check your cholesterol and blood pressure. If something is brewing, the basic tests usually detect something that will have to look closer. For the record, brain tumors are not inherited, and certainly could not get from your MIL. You are in the risk group for heart attack, but still not too late to do things to help offset the risk. You do not need to start testing outrageously expensive, however. I can not say that the price of the examination in the living, but you can get those quotes just calling around. All you need is a physical basis, appropriate for a man his age. You do not need MRI, CT, stress testing, or anything fancy at this point. Meanwhile, do not worry about dreaming up worst-case scenario. They are probably as healthy as you think you are.
