Volunteer Program projects abroad is too expensive?

I looked in various volunteer programs and was interested in projects abroad (www.projectsabroad.org). For two months in Ghana (medicine) that costs $ 3695.00. This cost includes: * All meals and accommodation * Transfers to and from the airport * Full travel insurance • health insurance • 24 hour support and backing of our local staff both in Canada and U.S.. Is that a reasonable cost?

Probably also covers translators, security, supervision and support staff in their service, while staff liaison with local authorities and officials, and staff time to train you to do what will be done. So, believe it or not, yes, that is affordable for all, supervise and support volunteer unskilled workers abroad. Just make sure you * really * going to get all this for money. Compare this program with a list of more-than-30 member organizations International Volunteers Program Association (IVPA), which is a good place to find reliable volunteers-for-a-program fee: http://www.volunteerinternational.org/
