What is needed in the report of a car engineer?

My car was canceled in category C, and since then I had to re-moved and repaired. My company insurance had been suspended and my insurance says I have to give ITV a new report from an independent engineer to enable safe return. I was wondering if someone could tell me what has to be in this report? Can it be only a paragraph detailing the repairs and that it is roadworthy, or has to be a long analysis. I phoned my local garage and do not think the engineer knows what is needed either. Has anyone else been in this situation? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance

What you need is to get a vehicle inspection report from the AA or the RAC, both make them, which will cost around £ 150 so I would ask your insurance company whether they will pay to have this done as it should be satisfied with a MOT certificate for the new car!
