It is the security video taken at the condominium owned outdoor protected by the Privacy Act of Ontario, Canada?
My husband's car was hit by a car leaving the parking in private driveway of the condominium where we live. He reviewed the tape on the monitor of safety and clearly shows that the other driver was at fault. However, mamgement property shall not make the video segment alleging that we violated the laws of privacy and that only the police can apply. Is this true? This tape could be very useful for insurance purposes in case of a lawsuit. Is there any way to get a hold of the footage? Unfortunately police investigate not get involved b / c it happened on private property, not a public road. participate only if someone was injured or if there was damage property (ie Lamposts or someone's lawn)
You can not give the tape can not give the tape to a private citizen. As I said management the police can apply in their investigation of the accident. You can most likely get what you need from them.
