life insurance beneficiary deceased

If I am the beneficiary of a life insurance of a deceased person, is the amount considered as income, thus taxable?

Generally a life insurance beneficiary is not taxed on the profits of death. But if the deceased owned or otherwise controlled the policy [if only to establish beneficiary (s)] is considered part of its gross assets to find out if your property taxes must. If you owned the policy, you may need to check what is the response was first discussed.
