VS Family Nurse Practitioner Family Doctor?
I have just graduated with my BSN. I always wanted to be a nurse family (8 years), but recently the idea of being a family doctor has come to my attention. I've been searching the Internet for some pros and cons, but I can not decide what direction we want go. I love the interaction I have with my patients and I do not want to lose that. The money is not a problem. I love what I do and that is more important to me than any amount of money (well anyway, I'd be making enough to live comfortably off). I think I want so much work. Also, since my understanding can go to medical school with my BSN and not a pre-med degree. Is that true? Besides, what is the difference in malpractice insurance? If I were to work in a hospital, to pay for it (I'm sure it depends, but typically?) Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
You will that contact with some specific schools of medicine and look at the classes he took, but in general nursing is not enough for medical school. You need calculus, physics, organic chemistry, chemistry, etc.-p So, as you do not need another degree, you may need more than a year of classes. Then you have to take the MCAT exam. Malpractice insurance may not even be compared between an MD and a NP. The MD will be thousands more. Most family medicine papers working in medical groups or clinics, not hospitals. The group can hire malpractice for the group, but everyone pays into it of their income. Kaiser is one of the few that applies to malpractice of all your documents. In addition, the medical school will cost many more thousands of NP school. You may want to shade of a NP for a while – that can really fit what your goals are. You have to work a little like a nurse before they can enter into NP school anyway, by you have some time to think things through. Good luck!
