property insurance premiums
Florida residents what the annual insurance cost of homeowners on their property, and taxes?

Since the hurricanes hit I happened, but wondered where, in FL and found that annual premiums, and taxes?

Florida has a Homestead rule, so Property taxes may vary depending on whether the owner is homesteading or not. My house is small and old, my insurance is 3 times what it pays in taxes. It is very difficult obtain insurance in "old" houses, which is anything built before 1960. That's not old, if you come from other parts of the country! The new governor is working on reducing property taxes and insurance to offer policies affordable, but why would a company insurance must be required to offer policies to people (including me) who prefer to live in coastal regions subject to hurricane damage? It is not always elses someone to blame when things happen – if nature is causing damage, people should not wake up and live there, or if they do not have to wait for another to collect the tab.
