car insurance open and direct

Am I at risk of identity fraud?

This morning I received my insurance renewal documents hire. However, they were in an envelope Royal Mail stating that the documents had been found floating freely around the box after they were taken. Now, these documents have my full name, date of birth, address, car registration, etc etc. They also have the data bank m, but half the number on the card is stressed out … Am I in danger? Should I contact the bank on Tuesday, when opened after the holidays? PS ….. Bell NEVER use direct insurance! :-)

I worried about partial card numbers on receipts, etc., but did some research and concluded that it is an international standard that gives what is shown and not, so now go in the paper recycling company. So I guess you're okay on that. Now, for your car and personal data – I suggest that pop over a dealer for your make of car and ask them what someone might be able to do with those details. They will be open this weekend. Now for testing of validity – the opportunity was there for someone to do something bad, but the likelihood is that they are copied and no bad will happen. If you regularly check your bank statement, then no problem – if not, do it in the next few months. If you call your bank – they have 24 hour card loss of call centers – then you take you through what could have been released and help you decide whether or not a new card, etc. issued.
