Should I sue my former employer's insurance company?

I was injured at work, I went to see a doctor who recommended a injection, but the insurance company had to approve it. After the injection, I would be followed up in two weeks and would have to give a doctor's note after being seen. The doctor sent a fax requesting the authority on 10 March 2008 sent a letter of denial on May 5 2008 … It typically takes 30 days to approve or reject an application. My employer fired me for not giving them a doctor's note on March 30, 2008. Is that true?
