Travel insurance needs to know
Generally, travel insurance protects all holiday costs against adverse events such as cancellation and interruption and also reimburses medical expenses, loss or damage to property and traffic delays. Passengers are compensated if they have to cancel or interrupt your trip, which will also be covered should they need emergency medical treatment, medical evacuation and other situations.
Many millions of travelers and tourists every year purchase any travel insurance, but few people really know what they are and how you can define. If you know what is included and what you can not take full advantage of its protection.
There four main categories of travel insurance:
Delay 1. And the cancellation – including restriction
Delay: This reimburses travelers for hotel, food or clothing expenses in the event of flight delay. Some plans also cover costs associated with catching up with a cruise should another delay cause the traveler to miss embarkation.
Cancellation: Reimbursement comes into effect if passengers have booked and paid for a vacation, but are unable to start due to illness or injury personnel, death (of a person or a family member), adverse weather conditions, airline strikes, terrorism, bankruptcy, sudden unemployment, of a jury or by the maintenance of serious damage to his house making it uninhabitable by fire or flood.
Adjournment: The companies insurance policyholders pay money abroad if they have to interrupt their trip due to illness, death (of the traveler or a family member), terrorism, climate, airline strikes, bankruptcy, sudden unemployment, and other adverse conditions, which means that due to events beyond the control of the vacationer, a trip must be limited.
2. Health and Medical Reasons
Medical evacuation: This provides emergency transportation to a local hospital or in the event that the traveler can not get themselves or back to a hospital near the city of origin of the traveler. If family members are covered in the same policy that can travel back home too.
Medical and health reasons: This reimburses medical and emergency dental costs. Almost all travel insurance plans work for the return of travelers after they have paid locally for treatment. Claims are paid within 7 to 10 days. Pre-existing conditions are covered by most policies if the policy is purchased within (at most) 21 days from the date on which the passenger made the first payment or deposit.
3. The death of passengers:
Accidental Death – Covers death or dismemberment at any moment of your trip. Usually provides the lowest amount of coverage due to an increased risk
Flight aircraft accidents – this covers death or dismemberment during an air flight. Usually provides the greatest amount of coverage due to fairly low likelihood of this happening.
